AGCOK Tulsa Luncheon - Architect Panel

Wednesday, June 24, 2026 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Join AGC of Oklahoma for their June Luncheon. Guest will get to hear from an architect panel with guest Michelle Bergwall, with GH2, and Katie Tillery-Merk, with Green Acorn.

Michelle Bergwall | GH2

Michelle Bergwall brings extensive experience in public-sector project management and K–12 facility planning, having led the allocation of $470 million in bond-funded improvements. As Chief Operating Officer for Broken Arrow Public Schools, she worked closely with construction managers and contractors to modernize facilities and deliver complex projects on active campuses.

Now a Principal leading her firm’s Education Practice, Michelle brings an owner-informed perspective to design, aligning priorities across clients, architects, and builders to support efficient, collaborative project delivery.

Katie Tillery-Merk

Katie Tillery-Merk is the founder and CEO of Green Acorn, a Tulsa based MEP engineering and commissioning firm serving clients throughout Oklahoma and across nine additional states. Founded in 2019, Green Acorn is built around delivering practical engineering solutions with the responsiveness, flexibility, and collaboration of a small business. As the owner of a rapidly growing engineering firm, Katie wears many hats on a daily basis. She moves between roles as a business leader, project support, technical reviewer, client liaison, and team mentor, often all within the same day. She helps guide each project’s direction, steps into client conversations when alignment is needed, supports engineers through technical challenges, and ensures the team has what it needs to deliver quality work.

Alongside the day-to-day demands of running the business, she focuses on developing people, strengthening internal processes, and building a team culture where employees can grow while doing meaningful, high-quality work. Katie’s background in engineering, product development, technology and program leadership gives her a practical, cross-functional perspective that helps bridge the gap between client expectations and technical execution. Her work is about keeping the organization aligned and supported so Green Acorn can continue moving forward together and deliver reliable, relationship-driven service to every client they serve.
